Instrument Use

General instructions

If you would like to start using Zeiss MP, please go to our Fees and user policy page for instructions for new users.

Important safety issue: avoid looking at the laser light - the MP laser is much more powerful than normal confocal lasers and invisible to your eyes.

Turn on the lights when you clean up, otherwise you may not notice oil spills and other problems. Cleaning up - instructions what to do after you are done with imaging.

In case of an accident - instructions what to do if you spill oil or break glass.

Always turn the main room lights off and close the microscope enclosure curtains before starting image acquisition with the microscope.

When finishing your experiment always switch the MP laser to a stand-by mode.

If the anesthesia equipment was used always disconnect the syringe with isoflurane from the machine and ventilate it for at least 10 minutes to ensure that the vaporizer is completely dry.

All registered MP users are automatically added to the MP users mailing list. Please read those e-mails to know what's going on!
